1. Infographic -Visual Book Summary
Here is my Visual Summary of Key take away’s from the book -'Your Second Life Begins When You Realize You Only Have One' by Raphaelle Giordano.
Some books strike a deep chord and this is definitely one such. Falling under the genre of psychological fiction, this book is about a woman who attempts to overhaul her life with the help of an unconventional therapist. Also sharing some quotes from the book that resonated with me.
“To do what you love is freedom, to love what you do is happiness.”
“In my mind, there are two dogs, one black and one white. The black dog is full of hate, anger and pessimism. The white one is filled with love, generosity and optimism. They fight all the time”. “Which one wins?”. “The one I feed more."
"The best way to bolster your self-esteem is to learn to be your own best friend. You have to value yourself, to have compassion for and to be kind to yourself, to show yourself gratitude as often as possible."
"You reap what you sow: that old adage makes sense. If you sow criticism, you reap resentment and disillusionment. Sow love and appreciation, and you’ll reap tenderness and gratitude"
2. Sketchnote - Article Summary
Here is a visual summary of a very insightful Harvard Article - 3 Types of Overthinking — and How to Overcome Them by Melody Wilding. This article speaks about how Overthinking is a critical problem with both individuals and teams, and how it creates a bottleneck at an organization level.
Many people look at overthinking as a monolith, when in fact there are three different types: rumination, future tripping, and overanalyzing. In this article, the author offers guidance on how to spot and handle each of the three types of overthinking.
3. A Quote to Ponder
4. Calvin and Hobbes
Happiness is a state of mind, about being in the ‘now’ & acknowledging the present with a sense of gratitude. Overthinking ruins the ‘now’. Sometimes we can find contentment in the simplest of things. I like how we are reminded of this simple truth by Calvin in the below cartoon strip.
That’s all for now! See you in the next edition :)
